March 2026 Stats and Selfies

So March continued my normal exercise regime with a combination of rides on ROUVY as well as getting some of my usual  John Hallas’ Weekly Challenges on FulGaz done.  I’ve also recently enabled the warm-up and cool-down features on ROUVY to actually record the distance I’m cycling before and after each structured ride.

I still need to actually go ahead and arrange a partial knee replacement, which we’ll do in the early summer…

So, here are March’s stats which might look slightly different to usual again as I had to significantly increase screen resolution to fit them all in:

March 2026 Statistics

Activities: 71 Distance: 730.31 km Time: 27:08:18 Calories: 25,576

Turning to my weight, at the end of February I weighed 91.7kg and at the end of March I weighed 92.7kg, which is up by 1kg. I blame the holiday in Corralejo…

Body fat percentage was down from 27.7% to 27.3%, which is nice.

We had another holiday in Corralejo, Fuerteventura, at the end of March so I again hired a Specialized Allez Elite from Easy Riders Bike Centre and went for a morning ride each day from the villas at Bahiazul along the FV-1 to Tamaragua and/or the FV-104 between the shore and the famous dunes.

In total, I managed 206km whilst we were there (plus some walking/hiking).

I continued doing my little selfie videos to annoy friends on Facebook, so here’s a collection, all shot on my Apple iPhone 17 Pro.

January 2026 Stats

Well January 2026 went like every other January: long, wet, dull, and about as welcome as a fart in a spacesuit.

Anyway, here are January 2026’s statistics, with work being somewhat slower and Alison being away for a few days for a family funeral.

So I continued my normal exercise regime with a combination of rides on ROUVY as well as getting some of my usual  John Hallas’ Weekly Challenges on FulGaz done.  I’ve also recently enabled the warm-up and cool-down features on ROUVY to actually record the distance I’m cycling before and after each structured ride.

So, here are January’s stats which might look slightly different to usual as I had to change screen resolution to fit them all in:

January 2026 Statistics

January 2026 Statistics

Activities: 80 Distance: 743.09 km Time: 22:04:56 Calories: 21,188

Turning to my weight, at the end of December I weighed 91.9kg and at the end of January I weighed 92.1kg, which is up by 0.2kg as I’m still wading through alllllllll the chocolate.

Body fat percentage was up from 27.3% to 28.2%, which is understandable.

2025 Statistics

Another year; another review.

2025 continued my fitness consolidation with a combination of real-world activities when we were on Fuerteventura and virtual activities in the UK (and Thailand where I didn’t venture outside the hotel to exercise), using the home gym equipment in the Pain Cave.

Since early November 2023, we’ve been back full time in the UK – other than holidays, of course – so the Pain Cave is visited pretty much every day first thing before work.

This helps with the pain and delays my partial knee replacement recommended by my Consultant by building support for the affected areas including my knackered (necrosis-riddled) knee and the pelvis and spine from the motorcycle crash. ‘Helps’ but doesn’t get rid of the constant pain that I have had to come to terms with.

Anyway, moan over, here are the stats:

2025 Statistics

2025 Statistics

My exercise stats are up from 2024 {in brackets}: 5,268.73km {4,218.76km} on bikes (real and virtual) and another 420km {700km} on two legs, so you can see the running and walking are now significantly down on the advice of the healthcare professionals.

Still not too bad for a 63 year old?

Weight-wise? On the 1st of January 2025 I weighed 88.0kg with a body fat percentage of 24.6% and on 1st January 2026, I weighed 91.8kg with a body fat percentage of 26.7%.  There’s a lot of room for improvement in 2026, especially as my target weight is 83kg.

September 2025 Stats

I mentioned earlier this month that I was finally taking the plunge and trying out ROUVY, so I have, and I’ve been enjoying some of the group rides with a group calling themselves the Crazy Catz who are on both FulGaz and ROUVY and Strava as well.

Running though has taken a back seat after some more consultations and an MRI: I need a partial knee replacement but I’ve decided to grin and bear it for a bit and try some injections later this year to out a plaster on it…

I’ve been doing my usual  John Hallas’ Weekly Challenges on FulGaz as well – it’s still my platform of choice – but the ROUVY rides aren’t as bad as I feared they would be.

So, here are September’s stats:

September 2025 Statistics

September 2025 Statistics

Activities: 30Distance: 569.27 kmTime: 17:54:35Calories: 18,110

Turning to my weight, at the end of August I weighed 88.9kg and at the end of September I weighed 89.4kg, which is up by 0.5kg, coincidentally the same gain as I had over my last weigh-in a couple of days ago.

Body fat percentage was up from 25.7% to 26.8%. I put that down to all the banana bread Mrs Me is making just now, that she can’t eat due to her bodybuilding competitions (did I mention Alison is awesome?).

August 2025 Stats

August was back to normal after a busy July being was mainly spent in Bangkok so it was back into the Pain Cave with less running and more cycling. The reduction in running is entirely due to my knee being super-painful having aggravated something in it in Thailand, due to overuse.

So I also made an appointment with a consultant who has now recommended and MRI before deciding what course of treatment it will need, surgical or non-surgical.

And the end of August saw us saying goodbye to my Mum when we scattered her ashes into the sea at Cromer yesterday.

In terms of the cycling, we’ve been watching La Vuelta and I’ve been doing my usual  John Hallas’ Weekly Challenges and the FulGaz Vineyards and Valleys Tour 2025 that runs until the end of September, but which I finished today…

Anyway, here are August’s stats:

August 2025 Statistics

August 2025 Statistics

Activities: 33 Distance: 516.11km Time: 22:30:12 Calories:  20,719

Turning to my weight, at the end of July I weighed 88.7kg and at the end of July I weighed 88.9kg, which is up by 0.2kg.

Body fat percentage was down from 26.3% to 25.7%.

July 2025 Stats

July was mainly spent in Bangkok and my hotel apartment although great overall was a disappointment in terms of the gym: both the treadmills and the cycling machines were previous generation: no Bluetooth connectivity, just the little LED dots on the screen.

This meant that my usual  John Hallas’ Weekly Challenges and the FulGaz French Tour 2025 that I started couldn’t be completed in time.  Running on the treadmill also exacerbated my existing knee problem (necrosis and no cartilage) meaning I stopped exercising at all, only starting again when I got home.

So here are July’s stats:

July 2025 Statistics

July 2025 Statistics

Activities: 18 Distance: 230.32km Time: 10:07:13 Calories:  10,766

Turning to my weight, at the end of June I weighed 87.9kg and at the end of July I weighed 88.7kg, which is up by 0.8kg; all those beers and Thai food! Body fat percentage was up from 25.6% to 26.3% no doubt due to all those meals.

So August needs to step things up and I need to knuckle down.

June 2025 Stats

June was busy, busy, busy but we managed to get away for a few days in the champagne region of France, staying in a couple of fabulous hotels, and visiting some of our favourite champagne houses.

Most of my time other than that was spent in the Pain Cave for more FulGaz rides, mainly my usual  John Hallas’ Weekly Challenges, but also the FulGaz Winter Escape Tour 2025, which they put out for the riders in the Southern Hemisphere (remember that FulGaz was started in Australia).

I also managed to cram both mountain bikes into the ST and take them to Windsor Great Park for some real life cycling too!

Anyway, here are June’s stats:

June 2025 Statistics

June 2025 Statistics

Activities: 30 Distance: 368.75km Time: 19:36:58 Calories:  17,971

Turning to my weight, at the end of May I weighed 87.0kg and at the end of June I weighed 87.9kg, which is up by 0.9kg; all those croissants and champagne! Body fat percentage was up from 24.8% to 25.6% which wasn’t bad considering the fine dining.

I’m not sure what July is going to be like, as I’m off to Thailand for three works on business.

May 2025 Stats

May began with me looking forward to a long weekend in Cornwall on the BMW R1250RT and that didn’t disappoint, even if it – meaning Cornish Pasties, cream teas, and pub meals – led to a few days off from the Pain Cave.

Anyway, here are May’s stats:

May 2025 Statistics

May 2025 Statistics

Activities: 27 Distance: 444.96km Time: 17:47:57 Calories:  18,569

Turning to my weight, at the end of April I weighed 86.8kg and at the end of May I weighed 87.0kg, which is up by 0.2kg. Body fat percentage was down from 25.6% to 24.8% which wasn’t bad considering the pasties.

April 2025 Stats

April was me coming down to Earth with a bump after a really enjoyable March.

Most of my time was spent in the Pain Cave for more FulGaz rides, mainly my usual  John Hallas’ Weekly Challenges, but during April (and May, although I finished it in April!), the FulGaz Coastal Explorer Tour.

Anyway, here are April’s stats:

April 2025 Statistics

April 2025 Statistics

Activities: 23 Distance: 359.88km Time: 14:29:04 Calories:  14,823

Turning to my weight, at the end of March I weighed 86.1kg and at the end of April I weighed 86.8kg, which is up by 0.7kg. Body fat percentage was up from 22.6% to 25.6% which I think is more realistic.
