My first run in 6½ weeks! Away in Sandton, Johannesburg, South Africa on business so after a 12 hour day with a Client, I decided to hit the treadmill in the Park Inn by Radisson

Bank Holiday Cycling 25km
We were supposed to be running a half marathon today in Milton Keynes but simply weren’t prepared, so instead we did a cheeky 25km cycle ride.
9 months since my last cycle ride. 9 months. Oh yes.
Earth Day 5k in Corralejo
Phew! That was hard work: back into the running after a few weeks off.
Week 14 Day 5 Birthday Run Home
Weight has increased by ½lb since Wednesday, but then I’d just eaten dinner and been out for two other Dinners since then.
Week 14 Day 2 Run Home
That was hard work tonight.
All The Gear … Still No Idea
Following my ‘issues’ with my AfterShokz Bluez 2 bone-conductive headphones packing up in the rain every so often, the multifunction button was also a hit-and-miss affair of late, is having already bought Alison a new pair, I did the same and my new AfterShokz Trekz Titanium wireless headphones arrived at the office today.
They’re smaller and seem lighter than the Bluez2 headphones which is a plus. And yes, they were very lightweight indeed on the run home.
April Fool
Weighed myself this morning and I’ve gained 5lb since Christmas, despite starting to eat more vegetarian food (cheeky Nando’s on Friday notwithstanding…).
I now need to knuckle down for the Milton Keynes Half Marathon at the start of May: only 5 weeks away!
Warsaw Polonia Palace Run
My first run since 2017: 10½ weeks or 2½ months plus I know I’ve put on shedloads of weight since the start of the year.
I got a bit lost trying to navigate the junctions and subways near the hotel and it was getting dark, cold and drizzling, so I cut it shorter than planned.
2017 Summary
Not a good year at all: lots of injuries and illnesses plus work getting in the way.
Over the course of the year, that showed by a weight gain of 2.6kg/5.7lbs.
I cycled 119km in May, June and August rather than trying to cycle regularly at the weekends.
My running was limited to just 121km and May’s total came purely from just the MK Half-Marathon.
Walking to and from work with the occasional weekend wandering led to a total of 666km, which wasn’t really “Beasting” it…
Must. Try. Harder.
